Help The Crisis Center Spread the Love
Wednesday, February 1 - Wednesday, February 29
Throughout the month of February, The Crisis Center is asking the community to help us "Spread the Love" by donating peanut butter and jelly to our Food Bank program.
Why Our Romance With Peanut Butter?
Protein products are some of the hardest for our Food Bank to stock. Fresh and frozen meat are expensive to purchase and rarely donated. We rely heavily on canned meat products but one can of tuna only provides one meal. A single jar of peanut butter, on the other hand, provides multiple meals and can really help a family get through the week. Throw in a jar of jelly, which is only available when it's been donated, and it's just a sweet deal all around.
A Supply Relationship on the Rocks
Due to the drought experienced in recent years by peanut farmers, less peanut butter is being produced in the United States right now. Lower supply, of course, means higher prices for you at the grocery store and for The Crisis Center's Food Bank.
How Can You Spread the Love?
Drop off a jar or two or plan a peanut butter and jelly drive at your school, neighborhood or business during the month of February. Or DONATE NOW! The Crisis Center can purchase peanut butter slightly cheaper than retail prices. Already have plans for a PB&J drive? Download our flier to help promote your efforts.
