Offering Hope When Someone Needs It Most

Check out the latest Volunteer Opportunity announcements here.

Volunteers who help in the Emergency Assistance program typically have served as Food Bank volunteers for at least 6 months and completed Client Interviewer training. If you have a strong desire to work with clients in need of emergency financial assistance, please inquire about fast track training so you can get involved.

There are other ways to help the EA program behind the scenes, particularly if you are interested in computer data entry or have strong Microsoft Excel skills.

For more information about volunteering in the Emergency Assistance program, please email stefanie.bell@jccrisiscenter.org or call Stefanie Bell at (319) 351-2726 ext. 120 weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Internship/Practicum Opportunities

The Crisis Center can also facilitate unpaid internships and practicum experiences in the Emergency Assistance program under the direction of a licensed master social worker. To inquire about an internship or practicum, contact Sarah Benson Witry via email at sarah.witry@jccrisiscenter.org or by phone at (319) 351-0128.
